Elkins Band and Guard Family,

Congratulations, Elkins Band and Guard!  What a historic moment for our program! The Elkins Band and Guard made school history this week by advancing to the Area Finals and placing 9th overall — an incredible achievement and a true reflection of the students’ hard work, dedication, and talent. We are so proud of our amazing band and color guard directors, and of every student who poured their heart into this season.

A huge thank you to the volunteers who came out on Monday to help with the Area prelims and finals — many of you took time off work to support our students on this special day, and we are deeply grateful. We also want to recognize all the parents and volunteers who have contributed throughout the entire marching season. Whether it was helping with uniforms, loading trucks, serving food, or cheering from the stands, your time and effort helped make this season such a success.

Elkins vs.Clements Football Game (Homecoming) Thursday, October 30^th

Thursday, October 30^th, we will be playing against Clements High School at Hopson.  This week is our Homecoming Game and both Fort Settlement and First Colony middle schools will be coming to play alongside with the EHS Band and Guard.  Come out and watch the game and see our Band perform at halftime with Fort Settlement, First Colony, and Clements.    Volunteers are still needed to help with the upcoming football game. We need assistance in the following areas - coolers, meal distribution, and traffic director.  Please go to our volunteer page to sign up.

Spirit Night at Torchy’s Tacos Wednesday, November 5^th

Mark your calendars for our next spirit night.  Please support the Elkins Band & Guard and order from Torchy’s Tacos (Sienna Crossing 9004 Sienna Crossing Drive Suite 100) on Wednesday, November 5^th from 4PM – 9PM.  Torchy’s will be donating 15% of net purchases for dine in and take out, only.  

Band and Guard Photo Day Thursday, November 6^th  

Band and Guard picture day will be held Thursday, November 6^th during their respective band/guard class period.  Students will take an individual photo and there will be an opportunity to purchase a composition group photo.  Please fill out the electronic form and choose the package or individual photos you want. Senior Night Thursday, November 6th 

At the last football game Thursday, November 6^th, the band and guard seniors will be recognized at half time. All senior parents, we will need you to arrive at Hopson around 7:30pm (meet where the band sits) so that we can prepare and confirm positions prior to half time.  As more information comes available, we will be sure to share.

Parents of seniors, please dress as you see comfortable.  You can dress up or dress casually.  We recommend that you skip the heels as they may get stuck in the field!  Remember that the photo op on the football field is with you and your student that will be dressed up in their marching uniform.

High-resolution digital downloads are available for $2.50 each, and print options include 4x6 ($3), 5x7 ($5), and 8x10 ($8) sizes.   Once purchased, you’re welcome to print your downloaded images in any size or quantity at home or through your favorite photo lab.
