Band and Guard Booster Update: Band Registration this Sunday and other reminders

I hope all of you have had an amazing summer!  The EHS Band and Color Guard season is upon us and Summer Registration is this Sunday!   In this message we have reminders of upcoming events, volunteer needs, and reminders on how to keep up with all things Band and Guard:

Band Registration Day- Sunday, July 27th

Our annual band registration meeting will be held Sunday, July 27, 2025. All EHS Band & Guard students and parents are required to attend Band Registration this Sunday in the EHS Auditorium/Commons. At registration, the band directors and band boosters will provide an in-depth presentation with all the essential information

you need to know for marching season. Then, students & parents will go through all stations in the cafeteria to fill out required forms, purchase materials/equipment, pay fees, and more. Please see the designated times below:


  • Percussion & Color Guard 12:00 - 1:00PM
  • Leadership & Seniors 1:00 - 2:00PM
  • Juniors & Sophomores 2:00 - 3:00PM
  • Freshmen & New Students 3:00 - 4:30PM


Please park in the student lot behind the school and look for the student greeters. When facing the school building, the students will be on the left side of the band hall (with the ramp/guard rail). Details on registration day were sent out on the Band app by the band staff. If you do not have the Band app, you will learn all about it at registration.


Parents of returning students: Confirm you have your marching gear prior to coming to registration. Please have your student confirm that they have AND can fit in their marching shoes, gloves (we recommend two pairs), their dri fit shirt, and dri fit shorts. Do they still have their water jug? That way they come prepared knowing what they may need to order on registration day.



Volunteers are needed to support registration

EHS Band and Guard Parent 101 online meeting – Monday, July 28th 7PM-8PM

We thought it would be great to offer an opportunity for adults with a band and guard student(s) to ask questions prior to the start of marching band.  We will have a parent online meeting on Monday, July 28th from 7PM-8PM.  Our board members will be joining the meeting.  We will be ready to answer your questions.  This is an optional meeting.

FBISD Volunteer Background Checks

If you plan to help the band in any capacity this school year you must complete an annual background check with the school district. This applies for any help you may provide at a football game, contest or on campus. FBISD clears the volunteer list every year on July 1st and a new application is required. Click the following link to complete the the complete Background Check.  If you have issues, please contact FBISD Human Resources at 281-634-1270.  Once you complete the form, please forward a copy of the approval email to Lyra Gulfo, vicepresident@elkinsband.org.



How to stay in the know:  Download the Band App and Google Calendar

In addition to the weekly emails that you will receive from the EHS Band and Guard Boosters, we highly recommend that you download the Band Calendar and Band App to stay on top of what’s happening with the band program.

  • Band App – EHS Band and Guard 2025-2026:   Our band directors will send out their weekly “Notes from the Band Staff” via the Band App with all things the students need to be aware of for upcoming school activities.  The band staff also send out announcements and communicate arrival times to the band hall while on marching and performance trips.  Click this link to be added to this group:  https://band.us/n/ada3AdZ1b5F3C
