Elkins High School Band and Guard to Host “Shoes and Tunes” Shoe Drive Fundraiser on Saturday, November 15

The Elkins High School Band and Guard invite the community to join them for “Shoes and Tunes,” a special shoe drive and live music event taking place on Saturday, November 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Elkins High School, 7007 Knights Court, Missouri City, TX.

This unique fundraiser will feature a live performance by the Elkins High School Jazz Ensemble while attendees drop off their gently worn, used, and new shoes. All shoes collected will help support the band’s fundraising efforts through a partnership with Funds2Orgs, a social enterprise that helps organizations raise money by collecting shoes that are then distributed to support micro-entrepreneurs in developing nations.

“Shoes and Tunes is a fun way for our students to give back to both our local and global communities,” said Joseph Chen, Director of Bands at Elkins High School. “We’re inviting everyone to come enjoy great music, clean out their closets, and help us make a difference—one pair of shoes at a time.”

The event is open to the public, and community members are encouraged to spread the word and bring as many pairs of shoes as possible. All styles and sizes are welcome—athletic shoes, boots, dress shoes, sandals, and more. Any shoes without tears or holes are accepted!

Proceeds from the shoe drive will go toward supporting the Elkins High School Band and Guard’s programs, performances, and competitions throughout the year. If you have shoes to donate, but are unable to drop them off on November 15, please drop them off at the school’s main entrance by December 5.
