It's Homecoming Time! Here in Texas, it's all about the mums.

If you traditionally make a Homecoming Mum for your student, want to make one for the first time, or are just curious as to what the heck this is, join us for a craft night in the Band Hall on Oct. 9, from 5 - 7 p.m.

What you will need: Bring your own supplies (senior mums are gold and white ribbons; all other classes are royal blue, white, gold ribbons). The example below of the gold and white is something you can purchase from Amazon. You can also buy everything at Hobby Lobby - 7 or 8-inch mum, 6-inch backer cards (will need 3), assorted ribbons - satin and grosgrain.

What should I do to prepare: There are tons of YouTube videos on how to make the fancy braided ribbons, if you'd like. Tip: the grossgrain will work best.

What else to bring: Glue gun, glue sticks, stapler, extra staples

How to sign up:

2) Click on the Oct. 9 opportunity.

3) Click "view volunteer opportunities"

4) Click the box next to "Mum Maker"

5) Change the number of slots to 1, 2, or more, depending on who is coming with you.

6) Click Volunteer button.

7) Fill out the information asked.

8) Click Save!

If all the number of slots are taken, come anyway! You are welcome!
